Volkswagen Passat Wagon 2007

The Volkswagen Passat Wagon has changed dramatically over the years with each version being constantly improved upon. The Passat Wagon is Volkswagen's midsize wagon that was first introduced to America in 1990 as successor to the midsize Quantum wagon.

Longer, wider, and taller, the new Passat Wagon is also more spacious inside, especially when it comes to rear legroom, which is up 2.4 inches over the old car. The standard engine is a 2.0-liter, turbocharged and intercooled inline four-cylinder making 200 horsepower and 207 lb.-ft. of torque. What's impressive about this motor is that it's fuel-efficient yet powerful, in part because peak torque is available across a flat powerband from 1,800 rpm to 5,000 rpm.



Volkswagen added a wagon variant to its recently re-designed Passat midsize sedan for 2007. While other wagons have used all manner of names to avoid stating the obvious - SportCross, Avant, SportCombi - the 2007 Volkswagen Passat wagon bears no artsy name. Its mission is to offer more space, plain and simple. To that end, cargo volume more than doubles over the sedan.
